It's been awhile since my last update and post, but I believe it is time to get this out in the open. There will be no further additions, changes, or creations from me. As some already know, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 renal (kidney) cancer with involvement of the lung and bone. I underwent radiation and immunotherapy and then chemotherapy. The chemo seemed to be having some effect but the side effects were having more of a negative impact on my well-being than I could tolerate and was looking at being in the hospital more than I would like and afford, plus my cognition was taking a huge hit. Therefore, I made the decision to move to hospice care, and let nature run its course. I do not know how much longer I may have, but I'm going to take each day, one at a time. My mind is much more clear and I find myself more alert and not nearly as dulled as it was on the chemotherapy. I am fine with my decision and, though I am not actively seeking the end, when it comes, it comes.
I got my very first mural scam today. It feels like a rite of passage. I didn't bite. I didn't bite when I got the bogus design agency job offer either! I was curious, though, so googled mural scams and found this: https://geekmamas.com/2022/09/25/instagram-scam-i-want-to-use-your-photos-for-mural-or-painting-and-steal-your-money/ . If the deviant replies the scammer will say how much they are willing to pay and will then send a cheque for more than that amount. The scammer will ask the deviant to send them the difference! Naturally the cheque is totally bogus and will never clear but the scammer tries to pressure the deviant into paying. The scammer wants to get the deviant to stump up the difference beforehand. Or the scammer is looking to get bank information. You get the
If your submission to this group has been recently rejected without comment, it's because dA won't let me access the comments section. Every time I try, I get an error message that posts in the background behind the art that says "we're having technical problems." This has been going on for weeks. Please know that if your piece was rejected it's likely for one of the following reasons: The character was overdressed. The art did not meet the group's basic subject matter. The character depicted was too iconic (Red Sonja, Deja Thoris, Lara Croft, etc.) to serve as SoR inspiration. I encourage everyone to read the Journal entry "What Makes a Sister of Rapture?" for more information on the kind of art we look for in this group. Please accept my apologies for not informing you directly. Thanks, T.Catt
